Bloom’s Taxonomy Certification

The Bloom’s Taxonomy provides a structured hierarchy of educational objectives that can significantly enhance the effectiveness of teaching and assessment in any educational context. Developed by Benjamin Bloom and his colleagues in the 1950s, this taxonomy was designed to classify levels of learning according to cognitive complexity, thereby enabling educators to better structure their instruction. This beginner-level course introduces participants to the principles and applications of Bloom’s Taxonomy, offering insights into creating clear, measurable learning objectives.

Participants will explore the six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy—Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create—and will learn how to apply these levels to design curriculum objectives that foster critical thinking and depth of learning. For example, at the “Remember” level, students might be asked to memorize historical dates, while at the “Create” level, they could be encouraged to develop a project based on historical events, which requires deeper thinking and application of their knowledge.
